About Us...

INTRODUCTION:

Wing Truck & Trailer Inc. is a family owned and operated company located in rural Upstate New York.  Our shop is located directly on the NY/VT border - we are 1 1/2 hours north of the New York State capital of Albany, 25 minutes east of Glens Falls, NY and 25 minutes west of Rutland, VT. 

John Shaw built the shop here mainly to service and house his own trucks, then began fabricating his own truck bodies and trailers after much frustration in not being able to locate a facility to build effective and quality equipment suitable to his specifications.  In the course of just a few short years, he was also servicing and setting up trucks for others, and building custom pup trailers for log hauling. Eventually, after selling the last of his own equipment, he settled in to operating the shop full time.

As a single father of four, locating the shop in close proximity to his home was a blessing and his children became involved in the company very early on. Though actively employed in the shop since the age of 13, John’s oldest son, Scott, signed on as Vice President and shop foreman in 1998 and incorporated the company.  John’s oldest daughter, Kim, graduated from St. Lawrence University in 1998 and returned to the family office in June of 1998 taking over financial, administrative and sales responsibilities. 

Also in 1998, the company introduced concrete forming cranes to its product line, then offering complete trucks, log loaders, custom fabricated bodies and trailers for the forestry industries and complete trucks, forming cranes, custom fabricated bodies and trailers for concrete, construction and masonry customers. Manufacturing custom flatbed trailers for precast and concrete block companies also proved to be successful around this time. Since then, we have also started setting up custom designed debris hauling trucks.

Wing Truck & Trailer, Inc. is still a small, family operation and employs a full time expert fabricator, George, who has been working with John for close to 30 years. 

Though the company and volume of work has grown substantially over the last 10 years, our commitment to a family atmosphere and treating customers like family has not changed.  The photos you see on this site are customer photos; we are proud of the work we do and proud to have each and every customer as part of our family.
